About Us

The International Society of Black Costume Designers (ISBCD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts association founded to elevate, support, and promote Costume Designers across film, television, theater, and beyond.

 

Through advocacy, education, professional development, and community engagement, ISBCD creates visibility and access for our members while honoring artistic excellence.

 

Our global membership includes professionals in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Kingston (Jamaica), Dakar, Johannesburg, London, and Paris. We champion our members’ achievements, host educational panels with industry experts, and organize social events that foster connection and collaboration.

 

ISBCD is shaping a more inclusive future for costume design, where Costume Designers are seen, supported, and celebrated.
